Pressings and stampings (also known as flat springs) are precision hardware components formed from sheet or coiled metal strip into specific shapes and functions. The process utilizes a series of high-precision dies to perform operations such as blanking, piercing, bending, drawing, and forming.
Unlike springs formed from wire, stampings have a much broader range of applications, such as:
- Structural Components: brackets, enclosures, and base plates.
- Connecting Components: clips, clasps, and fasteners.
- Functional Components: flat springs, conductive contacts, and heat sinks.
Thanks to their high strength, high precision, light weight, and excellent consistency in mass production, precision stampings have become indispensable foundational elements in the automotive, electronics, medical, and consumer goods industries.
ZW Precision Hardware transforms flat metal strip into complex 3D components with exceptional functionality with leveraging leading-edge tooling technology and automated production. We provide the core components for the world’s most innovative products.
Our Manufacturing Capabilities
We have mastered a range of advanced stamping and forming technologies to meet your unique design needs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
High-Precision Stamping
This is the ideal technology for high-volume, efficient production of complex stamped parts. A metal strip is fed through a single, multi-station progressive die on an automated line, where all piercing, bending, and forming operations are completed sequentially.
Advantages: Extremely high production speed, superior dimensional consistency, and very low unit cost, making it perfect for production runs of one million pieces or more.
Multislide Forming
This technology is exceptionally well-suited for parts that require complex bends from multiple angles, such as various custom clips and flat springs. It forms the material from different directions (slides) simultaneously.
Advantages: For certain complex geometries, the tooling cost is often significantly lower than that of progressive dies, and material utilization is higher. It is especially suitable for medium-to-high volume orders.
Deep Drawing
This process is specialized for manufacturing cup-shaped, shell-like, or tubular hollow parts with significant depth. Through one or more drawing stations, a flat metal blank is transformed into a three-dimensional hollow structure.
Advantages: Creates seamless, single-piece hollow parts with high structural strength and good hermeticity.
